About me
I am a journalist, teacher and researcher on digital media and journalism. I teach data journalism and disinformation studies at PUCRS University.
I have experience with digital products, analytics, data literacy and data journalism.
In terms of academic background, I have a PhD in Social Communications from PUCRS, with a research period at Northwestern University, in which I studied new boundaries of journalism and how journalism assumes new definitions online.
I also act as researcher for the Brazilian News Atlas, a crowdsourced mapping of news deserts across the country, and as consultant for the International Fact Checking Network. Previously, I have been a program manager for the News Product Alliance, and a fellow from the International Center for Journalists in the program A Digital Path for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Latin America.
Languages: native Portuguese; fluent English, intermediate French and basic Spanish.
